NYPD’s Crime Stoppers’ ad now seen on a truck
Now, when you see the NYPD’s advertisement truck driving through your neighborhood, you’ll remember how to say something.
The notable NYPD anonymous tips hotline program is expanding with a mobile truck that will display a revolving advertisement of their contact information, the department announced on Wednesday.
For 35 years, Crime Stoppers, which offers cash rewards for anonymous information that leads to the arrest and indictment of violent felony cases, will expand their reach by driving throughout the five boroughs.
Secured through funding from the New York City Police Foundation, the new Crime Stoppers truck is another tool for the NYPD to “leverage the power of Neighborhood Policing to reduce violence and disorder by building trust and strengthening relationships in all the communities we serve,” said NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill.
Crime Stoppers’ hotline, website, text-to-submit number and social media channels will be prominently displayed on several large LED screens. The truck will have the capability to reach each and every neighborhood throughout New York City.
