The Brooklyn Museum plans a major exhibit on the life and work of famed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo beginning Feb. 8, 2019.

The exhibition will feature Kahlo’s artwork as well as her clothing, jewelry and other personal items, according to Gothamist. It is titled “Appearance Can Be Deceiving” after one of her drawings that shows the physical disabilities that she usually hid beneath her colorful blouses and skirts.

The exhibit will also cover Kahlo’s visits to New York City, Gothamist said.

She came here with her husband, muralist Diego Rivera, in 1934 when Rivera was commissioned to paint an ill-fated mural at Rockefeller Center. (The mural was destroyed when Rivera refused to remove an image of Vladimir Lenin.)

She returned to the city in 1938 for a solo show at the now-closed Julien Levy Gallery in Manhattan.

“Appearances Can Be Deceiving” will run through May 12.
