Crown Heights board chair resigns after controversy
Brooklyn Community Board 9, representing Crown Heights South and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, has lost is fourth chair in four years, according to The Q at Parkside.
The problem, according to the website, is linked to the board’s search for a district manager – Chair Musa Moore placed board vice chair Pat Baker, whom The Q at Parkside said is his girlfriend, into nomination. In his resignation letter to the board, Moore began by listing some of the board’s successes: “Working together, we were able to stand against the Bedford Union Armory, the Spice Factory, as well as shine the spotlight on the Crown Street shelter.”
Later, however, Moore said, “In order to achieve that, the board must continue to operate from a ‘we’ mentality and focus on making decisions that will benefit and improve the community, not just individuals.”
