Re “A tale of two e-bikes: City moves ahead to help rich cyclists, while thousands of deliverymen suffer” (news article, May 16)

This article is so inaccurate. I am very much on the delivery worker’s side. But pedal only assist bikes are not just for the rich by any means. I’ve been selling kits for a decade that have lots of power in the $800 range at 36V with lithium battery. They will go on any low cost (or high cost) standard bike and they come with both the pedal assist and throttle together. Simply leave the throttle off the bike at home and it’s pedal assist only. – DOUG

Re “Community board knocks down plan for supertall tower at 80 Flatbush.” (news article, May 10):

I’m always impressed by how architectural renderings always show high-rise towers surrounded by other towers, and never in context with the low-rise buildings that predominate in the area. – ANDREW PORTER

Re “Sunset Park’s marine terminal and hundreds of maritime jobs returning to Brooklyn” (news article, May 8)

If they are just moving the existing operation from Red Hook to Sunset Park, there will be no new jobs created. What are they celebrating? They are just being moved from one place to another. This looks like a prelude to the land giveaway at Red Hook marine terminal to Cuomo and de Blasio real estate donors for condos and luxury rentals. I bet they won’t pay a dime in taxes either. They are celebrating shafting the taxpayers again and money to their campaign coffers. – MICHAEL M. CHERADE

Re “New group seeks pathway from Brooklyn Heights Promenade to Brooklyn Bridge Park” (news article, April 25):

The financial bullet should be bitten and an elevator installed, in my opinion. It will greatly increase access to the park for the handicapped. A nice, tasteful wrought iron cage, like the one on Borough Hall Plaza will not distract from the beauty of the promenade. – CLARKNT67

The people doing this study should check out the Izmir Asansör in Izmir, Turkey! Built in 1907 by Nesim Levi Bayraklıoğlu, it is a free public elevator for those living in the heights to get down to the waterfront neighborhood. It was actually the same neighborhood that Aristotle Onassis grew up in until 1922. – COMMENT FLAGGED

Re “Victim testifies Brooklyn prison guard raped her, threatened her with solitary” (news article, Jan. 10)

Why are these vulnerable women prisoners being guarded, jailed by men? They should all sue the city. – SHELLY PLATT

Re “Capote’s ‘Brooklyn’ memoir brings to life Brooklyn Heights in the mid-20th Century” (bookbeat, December 15, 2015)

As a born and bred Brooklynite, I find the photos, history and story, to be both brilliant and nostalgic. We must be thankful that prescient souls such as Mr. Attie and Mr. Capote realized the importance of such a capture and of its future value to history and posterity. We owe nothing less to Mr. Eli Attie, for sharing that wealth and to Mr. Martin Schneider for bringing it to current light. – COMMON PUNDIT
