An out-of-control car crashed through the front of The Civil Service Cafe on Thursday morning. The normally quiet Bedford-Stuyvesant cafe on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Clifton Place went into chaos around 8:40 a.m. as four people were injured in the high-speed collision.

Witnesses say one woman was pinned under the silver Dodge Challenger with Florida plates and may lose her leg, according to Henry Rosoff. The driver said he was hit by another car, but bystanders say he was speeding and lost control of his vehicle, Rosoff reported.

Mohammed Nagi, 20, saw the crash from behind the counter at the Bk 99 Deli & Grill across the street. He said the driver sped down Nostrand Avenue, slowed slightly at a yellow light at Clifton Place and yanked the steering wheel just before crashing into the cafe, Eater New York reported.

“He was saying another car hit him, but no car hit him at all,” Nagi said.

Two people were transported to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in serious condition, according to Eater New York. Emergency responders transported the driver to Brooklyn Medical Center with minor injuries, FDNY officials said.

One pedestrian suffered a minor injury but refused medical attention.
