The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) announced this week that it has appointed three new members to its board of directors following their election at a July 25 board meeting.

Brooklyn Bar Association President David Chidekel is one; and Sean Gray, director of the commercial business risk office at Capital One, and Adam Shepherd, vice president of Macquarie Group, are the others.

“In joining the VLP board, David, Sean, and Adam bring not only extensive knowledge and expertise, but a deep commitment to the advancement of the VLP’s mission,” said Stephen Z. Williamson, the nominating chair of the VLP Board of Directors. “We are thrilled to welcome them to the board and look forward to working together in shaping the VLP’s impact throughout Brooklyn.”

The three new members join a 14-person board that oversees the VLP’s finances and growth. The nonprofit organization represents indigent citizens in Brooklyn and trains and mentors young attorneys.
