Restaurateurs Zeb Stewart and Jud Mongell have opened three restaurants at the new Williamsburg location of the Hoxton hotel chain. They say these restaurants have the ethos of the smaller-scale Williamsburg of two decades ago, and they should know since they helped to develop the area’s restaurant scene back then, according to Eater

Stewart opened the famed music venue and bar Union Pool in 2000, and Mongell opened Five Leaves on the Greenpoint/Williamsburg border in 2008. The menu of the ground-floor restaurant, Klein’s, “reflects the goal of being a gathering place with simple Americana dishes centered around a wood-burning grill,” Eater said.

Summerly, a rooftop bar featuring views of the Manhattan skyline, will open soon. And Backyard, a second-floor terrace bar that also has outdoor space, is designed to be a community gathering place and party spot, complete with ping-pong tables.
