After years of disruptions from minor hiccups to full-blown lawsuits, the redevelopment of the former Greenpoint Hospital is moving forward under the jurisdiction of Magnusson Architecture and Planning and Architecture Outfit, and with the new addition of developers at Hudson Companies Incorporated, Project Renewal and St. Nicks Alliance.

According to Brownstoner, plans for the six-building complex in East Williamsburg center around 100 percent affordable housing, with multifamily units, about 21,500 square feet of community space and two entirely new buildings, one dedicated to seniors and the other to a new shelter.

The project is slated to be carried out in two stages, Brownstoner reported. The first stage outlines the relocation of the current shelter, the beginning of construction on one of the new buildings. The redevelopment of the hospital building and the construction of the second new building are in the second stage.

Hudson Companies Inc. is also behind the ongoing redesign of the Brooklyn Heights Library at 280 Cadman Plaza West, The Parkline at 626 Flatbush Ave. in Prospect-Lefferts Garden and the J Condominium at 100 Jay St. in DUMBO, among others.
