An alert Prospect-Lefferts Gardens resident was able to capture an elusive guinea pig in Prospect Park on Saturday night, succeeding where other neighborhood residents had failed. Dustin Dis and his wife Kelso Wyeth were walking their dog Otto when they saw the guinea pig, according to Patch.

He also saw a red-tailed hawk perched nearby and knew he had to save the rodent as fast as possible, so he lured the critter into his arms with one of Otto’s peanut butter biscuits, Patch reported. Once they were home, the couple bathed and fed the guinea pig, whom they’ve named Nick Cavy. (Cavy is another name for guinea pig). Dis has been reaching out to animal rescue organizations, neighbors and friends to find Nick a permanent home.
