Brooklyn DA gives away backpacks at West Indian Day Parade Junior Carnival
It’s not out of the ordinary to see Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez at the annual West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn, but this year he and members of his office also attended the parade’s Junior Carnival that was held on Saturday, where they handed out 165 book bags.
The Kings County District Attorney book bags were each filled with school supplies that were donated to the KCDA over the past several weeks.
“This event, together with the large contingency of Office workers that marched during the Labor Day Parade shows our commitment to keep immigrant communities safe and treat everyone with dignity and respect,” a Brooklyn DA spokesperson said.
