Last year, chef Danny Bowien announced he was bringing his hit restaurant Mission Chinese Food to Brooklyn. Now, an update from the restaurant indicates the spot will be opened and operating this fall.

Bowien, who won the James Beard Award for Rising Star Chef in 2013, opened a Manhattan outpost of his San Francisco restaurant in 2012, has chosen the spot next to popular East Williamsburg music venue Elsewhere for the Brooklyn site. This was announced last fall, but now there finally seems to be some progress in the movement. The restaurant took to Instagram to post a writeup from New York Magazine’s “Fall Preview” issue, confirming that the opening is imminent.

Food and Wine reports that there will be a takeout window in the music venue next door where concertgoers can stock up on snacks. Also new: bread service. Bowien will experiment with a bakery fusion, serving sourdough buckwheat injera and other Tandoori-baked goods alongside his signature Sichuan-influenced menu.
