A Queens angler was hoping to catch some fish but instead reeled in a 30-pound turtle off a Brooklyn pier.

It appears to be a baby loggerhead turtle, which can grow to be 3-feet long and up to 300 pounds.

WNBC-TV says a silver tag attached to the reptile’s flipper says National Park Service of Florida. Marine biologists plan to release it back into the wild.

Kaheem Evans said he was fishing off the pier in Canarsie on Wednesday when he hooked the turtle. The 23-year-old Queens resident says he’s been fishing there for years. But it’s the first time he’s caught a turtle.
