30,109 NYC Christmas trees recycled at ‘MulchFest’

The holidays are over, but thousands of New York City’s Christmas trees will live on as mulch for city parks.
The city Parks Department said Tuesday that 30,109 trees were turned in over the weekend in the department’s 18th annual MulchFest.
That total exceeds the previous record of 26,373, which was set last year.
