Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes on Thursday announced the conviction of Sadiq Abdul-Wahhab, 48, for burglary in the first degree. When he is sentenced June 11, he will face a maximum of up to 25 years in prison.

On Feb. 21, 2010, a man entered the East Flatbush building where he lived, and noticed three men in his parents’ apartment in the same building, while both his parents were at Sunday services at the nearby Pentecostal church where his father is a bishop. The men, including Abdul-Wahhab, who was wearing a white hockey mask, had all obscured their faces.

Abdul-Wahhab, who lived across the street, pointed a gun at the man and ordered him to lie on the floor before they fled.

DNA found at the crime scene matched Abdul-Wahhab’s profile. It also matched DNA found at the scene of a robbery in Nassau County. In addition to this case and the Nassau case, for which he was convicted and is now serving 13 years in prison, Abdul-Wahhab has two open cases pending in Brooklyn.

In each of those, he faces charges of robbery in the first degree, which carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
