Affordable home workshops planned in Bed-Stuy

Learn about affordable home options at one of the following workshops offered by the Bridge Street Development Corporation in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

• Mortgage Readiness Clinic: Affordable Housing Options, Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Representatives from Habitat for Humanity and Restored Homes will present affordable housing options for first time homebuyers. They will explain what their organi- zations are doing to provide affordable housing, how you can qualify to purchase an affordable home and what the affordable housing guidelines are and how they work.

• Making Your Home Affordable, Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. If you’re in danger of los- ing your home or struggling to make your mortgage payments, this informational session on federal assistance programs will help.

Experts will describe the available programs under the Making Home Affordable Program, will help you understand the loss mitigation process and instruct you on how to qualify for a loan modification. Both workshops are free and will take place at 456D Nostrand Ave. (entrance is on Jefferson).
