Alums Sue Brooklyn Law School
JORALEMON STREET — Disgruntled lawyers and law graduates are suing Brooklyn Law School and several other New York law schools, claiming that inflated graduate employment statistics enticed them to attend and pay tuition.
Attorney Jesse Strauss represents some of the plaintiffs and ironically graduated Brooklyn Law School with honors in 2003, before clerking for Brooklyn federal court Judge Dora Irizarry. Strauss also once ran for male district leader of the 52nd Assembly District in Brooklyn Heights.
As the economic crisis in America continues to take its toll on attorneys looking for jobs, these types of lawsuits seems to becoming more popular throughout the country. Other schools being sued in the class actions filed last week include those in California, Illinois, Delaware and Florida. In New York, Albany Law School, New York Law School, and Hofstra Law School are also being sued.
