Stormtroopers, puppets, and shrunken heads!

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! will soon be the scene of an outrageous Star Wars-themed sleepover, and the fun will benefit the Brooklyn-based nonprofit Puppetry Arts. The sleepover, for kids ages 6 and up and their lucky caregivers, takes place in the Times Square Ripley’s on Friday, Feb. 10, from 7 p.m. through 8 a.m. the morning of Feb. 11.

Celebrating the release of Star Wars: Episode I in 3-D, party-goers will eat pizza with costumed stormtroopers from the 501st Empire City Garrison and the Echo Base Rebel Legion Star Wars Costume Volunteers; make Yoda masks and C-3P0 paper-bag puppets; decorate Wookie cookies and more. The more adventurous can play laser tag or join a scavenger hunt through the bizarre exhibits and astonishing artifacts at Ripley’s.

“From the museum to the activities, this unique and exciting event for our charity will not only benefit us, but will be a terrific event for the whole family in galactic proportions,” said Puppetry Arts Executive Director Tim Young.

Snacks will be provided all night long, and breakfast the next morning is at Applebee’s. Puppetry Arts will also provide Meet N’ Greets with their puppet characters and gift bags with goodies and a complimentary movie ticket.

Participants should bring a pillow, PJs, a flashlight, a toothbrush and a sleeping bag, and everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars character for the costume contest. Prizes include gifts from 7-Eleven of Park Slope, Dave & Busters, and Madame Tussauds.

Admission to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Star Wars Sleepover is $145 per person. One adult (over age 21) is required for every four children. For tickets call (212) 398-3133. A percent of the event proceeds will be given to Puppetry Arts, which provides family-enriching activities and cultural enrichment for all ages. For more information visit www.puppetryarts.org.
