Taking “Go Further” — Ford’s 2012 marketing sloan — to heart, the expansion by Bay Ridge Ford co-owners Gary Flom and Veniamin Nilva (far right) displayed a confidence in Ford, their dealership and the vibrant economy in Brooklyn.

“Bay Ridge Ford has helped keep Brooklyn’s and New York City’s economic ‘engine’ running,” Borough President Marty Markowitz (center) said. “This new service center will employ more than 60 people, and with companies like Bay Ridge Ford along the Brooklyn waterfront, we’re proving to the rest of the country that skilled industrial jobs can be a ‘driving’ force in this economy once again.”

The state-of-the-art center, big enough to service such oversized vehicles as fire engines and ambulances, as well as Ford cars and trucks, is expected to open by the end of the year.

Joining in yesterday’s celebration was Bay Ridge Ford’s crew, including Sales Manager Gary Langshteyn (far left), General Manager Rich Capetta (second from left) and Brian Schneck, president of UAW Local 259 (back row behind Gary Flom).

When Bay Ridge Ford opened its 7,500 square foot showroom at 612 86th St. in 2009, it was one of the first new Ford dealerships in the United States since the recession began.

“I was thrilled to bring together city, state and federal agencies to provide needed tax credits, and proud to work with Empire State Development and president Ken Adams, and the NYC Economic Development Corporation and president Seth Pinsky to make this a reality,” Markowitz said. “And, of course, congratulations to Gary Flom and his entire staff on their new service center, which will ensure that Brooklyn is all ‘tuned up’ and ready to go!”
