Bloomberg: NY always comes back stronger
Mayor Michael Bloomberg says it’s fitting to remember the heroism as well as the sorrow connected with Superstorm Sandy.
Bloomberg spoke Tuesday in Coney Island. It was his final stop on a tour designed to show New York City’s resiliency.
He noted that the city “has experienced great catastrophes before.”
Bloomberg says that every time, New York has “come back stronger than ever.”
The mayor says the city is now more able to withstand the kind of surging seawaters and punishing winds that Sandy brought.
He adds that the rebuilding efforts are making the city resilient to a broad range of weather events.
