BP considers request to build 8-story in Greenpoint
A proposed new eight-story residential building in Greenpoint will have a hearing today Wednesday, Sept. 19, before Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
Markowitz’s staff, who will hear from representatives of the developer, McGuinness Realty Corp., will consider the application for a zoning change from a manufacturing (M1-1) district to a residential (R7A) district to allow the new development.
The property is bounded by Greenpoint Avenue, McGuinness Boulevard, Calyer Street and a line midway between McGuinness and Eckford Street.
The applicant also requests that the proposed rezoning area be identified as an inclusionary housing designated area.
