ON THIS DAY in 1904, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Bedford Section Youth Puts Bullet in a Waiter.”
The article focused on a shooting at a saloon.  The shooter fired at a waiter and then later at police.
“The residents of the block bounded by Fulton street, Nostrand avenue, Herkimer street and Bedford avenue were awakened out of their slumbers at 1:30 o’clock this morning by shouts and shooting,” the article wrote.
