Hon. Sylvia Hinds-Radix takes helm at Brooklyn Women’s Bar
REMSEN STREET — Last night in Brooklyn Heights the chief judge of the Brooklyn Supreme Court became the chief officer of the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association (BWBA).
Kings County Administrative Judge for Civil Matters Sylvia O. Hinds-Radix was installed as BWBA president. She succeeds Lisa Schreibersdorf, the founder and executive director of Brooklyn Defender Services (BDS).
Court of Appeals Judge Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick administered the oath to Hon. Hinds-Radix, while NYS Judicial Institute Dean Juanita Bing Newton swore in the BWBA officers, directors, and delegates to the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY).
The ceremonies were held at the Brooklyn Bar Association on Remsen Street, and were followed by a reception. BWBA member and Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan was the mistress of ceremonies.
