Brooklyn Bar Association helps celebrate milestone

The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project recently participated in a reception hosted by the state court system’s Access to Justice Program. 

The April 18 reception was held to honor the Volunteer Lawyer for the Day project for its service to 10,000 consumer debt defendants.

James Slattery and Robert Jacovetti, president and coordinator, respectively, of the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, were present. Also in attendance were Abby Milstein, chair, board of directors, New York Legal Assistance Group; David Tipson, director, New York Appleseed; Judge Fern Fisher, deputy chief administrative judge for New York City courts and director of the Access to Justice Program; Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti; and Stewart Aaron, president of the New York County Lawyers’ Association and a partner at Arnold & Porter.
