The Brooklyn Book Festival and Brooklyn Literary Council have announced more than 100 national and international authors who will participate in the next Brooklyn Book Festival on Sept. 21, 2014.

This free, day-long event of all things literary presents talks by famous and emerging authors, panel discussions, readings and performances. Preceding the festival is a week of Bookends events, which will kick off the weekend with several days of film screenings, parties, literary games and author appearances.

The 2014 authors include Paul Auster, Pete Hamill, A.M. Homes, Jonathan Lethem, Ayana Mathis, Rebecca Mead, James McBride, R.L. Stine, Edmund White and Colson Whitehead, among hundreds of others.

“Year nine and kicking at the Brooklyn Book Festival as we continue our mission to produce a free annual world-class literary festival that appeals to huge audiences young and old, New Yorkers and visitors alike," said Johnny Temple, chair of the Brooklyn Literary Council.

This year's festival will again take place at Brooklyn Borough Hall and nearby venues including the Columbus Park, Brooklyn Historical Society, Brooklyn Law School, St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church, and St. Francis College.
