Brooklyn could get hit with nor’easter right before Halloween
It could be a soggy Halloween in Brooklyn if Hurricane Sandy, crossing Cuba early Thursday morning, moves along the path that some weather forecasters deem increasingly likely.
The National Weather Service has already issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Brooklyn and the rest of New York City, along with Long Island and the surrounding area. The outlook states: “There is a potential for a major coastal storm with heavy rainfall, high winds, coastal flooding and beach erosion” starting Sunday, October 28, through Tuesday, October 30.
The storm “will ultimately depend of the eventual track and evolution” of Hurricane Sandy, the service says, and its interaction with a low-pressure system approaching the East Coast, which could boost its’ impact.
