When Brooklyn-based business man Cesar Kuriyama turned 30, he wanted to capture the very best moments of his life on video as Gawker reports.

Kuriyama crated the One Second Everyday project with the mission of encapsulating every one of his days into the most memorable second. “On the day I turned 30 years old, I started recording 1 second every day for the rest of my life,” says Kuriyama. “When I turn 40, I’ll have a 1-hour video that encapsulates my 30s. If I live to see 80 years of age, I’ll have a 5-hour video that summarizes 50 years of my life.”

Kuriyama has a video of what he’s taken so far (as of this past March) and he already raised nearly $50,000 after an initial $20,000 goal on Kickstarter. We’ll see if more people take Kuriyama’s lead and make every second matter.
