CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Panthers offensive lineman Jordan Gross and his teammates raised more than $100,000 to fight Cystic Fibrosis through his sixth annual Joes vs. Pros charity kickball tournament Saturday in Charlotte.
Gross started the event after his niece Brooklyn was diagnosed with CF in 2005.
He's raised more than $500,000 to help find a cure.
More than 25 Panthers players turned out for the event which features Charlotte-area community business competing in a kickball tournament with the winners advancing to face a team full of Panthers in the finals.
Steve Smith, Jon Beason, DeAngelo Williams and Ryan Kalil were among the Panthers who competed.
Gross says "it means so much to that everyone, including my teammates, take time to come out and support a cause that's so close to my heart."
