Good morning. Today is the 93rd day of the year It is the birth anniversary (1908) of Buddy Ebsen, the actor best known for playing Jed Clampett on “The Beverly Hillbillies” in the 1960s. Ebsen started as a song-and-dance man. He almost played the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz (1939), but he had an allergic reaction to the makeup and had to leave the role. His breakthrough came in the 1950s, when Walt Disney chose him to play Georgie Russell, Davy Crockett’s sidekick, in the “Davy Crockett” TV show.
 
Well-known people who were born today include singer Emmylou Harris, actor Christopher Meloni (“Law & Order SVU”), literature professor and cultural critic Camille Paglia and musician-singer Leon Russell.

This morning at 11 a.m., the Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center will open its new facility at 1456 Fulton St. The center will now be able to serve the needs of more than 20,000 Brooklyn residents. … Today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fairway Market at 480-500 Van Brunt St. in Red Hook will be roasting kosher-for-Passover coffee. The coffee roasting will be supervised by KOF-K, one several kosher certification agencies.
