Good morning. Today is the 355th day of the year. On this day in 1902, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported that three Brooklyn residents were claiming a share of the estate of Sara Waters, “a miserly old woman who had died leaving an estate of $250,000.” The amount is certainly several million in today’s money. The attorney for the claimants said that Mrs. Waters was “not in her right mind” when she made the will, and that an “old family Bible” established the fact that they were relatives of Mrs. Waters. Incidentally, the coroner called Mrs. Waters’ death suspicious and called for an investigation.

Well-known people who were born today include actress Jenny Agutter, actor Jonah Hill, sociologist William Julius Wilson and psychic-clairvoyant Uri Geller.
