The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of July 12, 1902, wrote about such a business in the article “Big Mortgage on Ice Plant.” The plant in question was located on Fourth Avenue and Bond Street. In the days before refrigeration, people used iceboxes for cold storage and relied on daily deliveries of ice.
