Good morning. Today is the 201st day of the year. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of July 19, 1901, says that the Hebrew Benevolent Society of the Eastern District (meaning Williamsburg and Bushwick) would be sponsoring an excursion to Rockaway Beach for “sick Hebrew children.” “Refreshments for the children will be provided on the train and at the beach,” the Eagle continued. The society, it said, was sustained “purely by voluntary contributions.”
