Good morning. Today is the 121st day of the year. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of May 1, 1902, carried a small item with the headline, “Did You Move Today? Let Your Friends Know Through The Eagle.” In those days, only a minority of people had telephones and, of course, email was non-existent. Consequently, according to the Eagle, “Each year there is a problem of friends trying to locate people who have moved but who have not given their new addresses.” Therefore, the Eagle offered to print the names and new addresses of anyone who had moved within the past two weeks as a public service.

Well-known people who were born today include Hall of Fame football player Chuck Bednarik, singer Tim McGraw, Rita Coolidge (“Higher and Higher”), singer Judy Collins (“Both Sides Now,” “I Think It’s Going To Rain Today”) and singer Sonny James (“Young Love”).
