Good morning. Today is the 128th day of the year. On this day in 1824, Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony” was first performed in Vienna. Beethoven was completely deaf when he composed it, and it is said that a soloist had to tug on his sleeve when the performance was over to get him to turn around and see the enthusiastic response.

Well-known people who were born today include filmmaker Amy Heckerline (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Look Who’s Talking), basketball player Shawn Marlon and actor Peter Reckell (“Days of Our Lives”).
