Good morning. Today is the 314th day of the year. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle for Nov. 9, 1901, reported a bold daylight burglary on Macon Street in Stuyvesant Heights. Taking advantage of the temporary absence of the family who lived there, the thieves broke into boxes that held silverware, valuable rugs, expensive clothing, silver plates and more. The family was planning to move out.
Well-known people who were born today include U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, Brooklyn-born actor Lou Ferrigno (“Pumping Iron,” “The Incredible Hulk”), sportscaster Tom Weiskopf and Hall of Fame baseball player Bob Gibson.
