Brooklyn author L. Alison Heller’s new book, “The Never Never Sisters,” was released on June 3. The romantic novel, from an author described as a “promising new talent”, is an absorbing tale of family secrets — the secrets kept to protect loved ones, the ones we keep to guard ourselves, and the ones we learn from.

“The Never Never Sisters” tells the story of marriage counselor Paige Reinhardt’s search for truth in her relationships with her sister and husband and her struggle to keep her head above water as she grapples with her biggest challenge yet. Heller, informed by her career as a mediator and divorce attorney, skillfully blends the saga of the Reinhardt family one summer in New York City with in-depth observations into a troubled marriage and complicated family relationships.

Paige is counting down the days to summer, eager to reconnect with her workaholic husband, Dave, at their cozy rental cottage in the Hamptons. But soon a mysterious crisis at Dave’s work ruins their getaway plans. Paige is still figuring out how to handle the unexplained chill in her marriage when her troubled sister suddenly returns after a two-decade silence. Now, instead of enjoying the lazy summer days along the ocean, Paige is navigating the rocky waters of a forgotten bond with her sister in the sweltering city heat. As she attempts to dig deeper into Dave’s work troubles and some long-held family secrets, Paige is shocked to discover how little she knows about the people closest to her.

Heller, a Connecticut native, has lived in NYC since 2000. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law and the author of one previous novel, “The Love Wars”, she operates her own family law and mediation practice and lives in Brooklyn with her family. For more visit
