The Bridge is a new hour-long drama series from writer/producers Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid starring Academy Award® Nominee Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger that premiered on Wednesday on FX.

As part of the premier of The Bridge, FX hosted a national art contest for the Latino American art community between 6/4/2013 and 6/17/2013, the winner of which was unveiled at a celebratory event in Bushwick last weekend. The contest asked amateur artists in 5 major cities (Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Miami, FL, and New York, NY) to create original work inspired by the collaboration and connection between Latino and American cultures. A panel of expert judges selected the best entries in each location and the winning artist had his/her mural erected and received a $1500 cash prize.

Set on the border between El Paso and Juárez, The Bridge centers on two detectives, one from the United States and one from Mexico, who must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border. The show is a thriller/crime drama, which explores the relationships between the two detectives, the cities Juárez and El Paso, and the two countries Mexico and the U.S.
