An arrest has been made in a Brooklyn residential fire that injured 12 people, five of them critically.

The fire occurred Thursday morning in a three-story brownstone on Chauncey Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The NYPD said Friday that the suspect, 43-year-old Yvette Randolph, is a city correction officer.

Firefighters sawed through window bars while rescuing trapped residents.

The Daily News says workers at a nearby deli provided police with video that showed a suspect approaching the building while carrying a bag of charcoal sticks.

Information on the defendant’s attorney was not immediately available.

Correction Commissioner Dora B. Schriro said the department’s employees are saddened by the incident and wish the victims a “speedy and complete recovery.”
