FDNY confirmed that three male construction workers were hurt on Monday after falling at a construction site at Third Avenue and Third Street in Gowanus, the site of the future Whole Foods supermarket.

The call came in at 1:02 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson told the Brooklyn Eagle. The condition of the workers was not reported. The men were transported to Lutheran Hospital.

The steel frame of the Whole Foods store is rising next to the Gowanus canal and closely hugs the historic Coignet Building at Third Avenue and Third Street.

The incident was first reported on the NYScanner’s Twitter feed.
