Container unit at Red Hook found to contain cocaine

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers yesterday announced that they had discovered 24.6 pounds of cocaine hidden within a refrigerated container at the Red Hook Container Terminal. On May 7, officers from the Port of New York/New Jersey, working with U.S. Homeland Security agents, found 11 “bricks” of cocaine hidden within a container unit headed for Antwerp. The case is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
