LIFE SAVERS! Firemen pull drowning woman from deadly Gowanus Canal

A woman who either fell or jumped into the ultra-polluted Gowanus Canal was saved by rescue crews from a Police Department boat on Tuesday night, according to Carroll Gardens Patch.

According to Patch, the woman was found in the toxic waterway around 5:30 p.m. near Union and Bond streets. She was able to hold on to a life ring from the vessel.

Crews pulled her out by 6:03 p.m. and took her to New York Methodist Hospital.
