DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Deutsche Bank has leased 50,000 square feet in the MetroTech Center for its first Brooklyn office.

According to a report in The Commercial Observer in January, the bank will be at the JPMorgan Chase-owned 4 MetroTech Center.

A check of Department of Buildings records revealed a permit was issued for the interior renovation of the eighth floor.

Deutsche Bank, which offers a variety of investment and financial services to private individuals and corporations, will be using the space to house its operations staff and other back-office resources, the Observer reported.

Jones Lang LaSalle brokers Ken Siegel and Peter Riguardi represented Deutsche Bank in the transaction, sources said. Scott Cahaly and John Wheeler represented the landlord, JPMorgan Chase, which is among the only other entities to own buildings in the MetroTech complex besides Forest City Ratner.

According to the Observer, Siegel and Riguardi declined to comment, Cahaly and Wheeler could not be reached and spokespersons for Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase also declined to comment.

The German bank has offices at 120 W. 45th St., 1251 Avenue of the Americas, 345 Park Ave., 622 Broadway and 885 Third Ave. — all in Manhattan.
