RANGERS 5 JAGUARS 3

The first half of this Varsity Division game was a defensive battle. Exceptional goaltending by Daniel Taute for the Rangers and the combination of Chris LaMonica and Jimmy Pisciotta for the Jaguars led to only one goal scored by each team in the half.

Strong defensive play by John Pagano and Keara Donahue of the Jaguars and Tiana Croce and Nicole Sparacio of the Rangers contributed to the low-scoring affair. Peter Pisciotta of the Jaguars and Dom Castiglione of the Rangers scored the only two goals allowed in the half.Mario Pedenara and Donovan Didonato chase down a loose ball.

The offense came alive in the second half of the game, as Dom Castiglione scored an unbelievably quick goal for the Rangers within 10 seconds of the start of the half. Then teammate Sal Cardinale scored another goal to give his team a 3-1 lead.

The Jaguars struck back with a pair of goals by Elizabeth Tesoriero, with an assist by Peter Pisciotta on the second one, to tie the game at 3-3.

With time running out in the game, goals by Mike Napoli and Castiglione sealed the 5-3 victory for the Rangers.

The offensive units for both teams exploded in the second half. Kayla Hankash, Matt McCarthy and Mario Pedenara scored a goal apiece for the Jets.
