First Combo Penthouse Sold

WILLIAMSBURG — Developer Jeffrey Levine, chairman of Douglaston Development, the developer of The Edge on the waterfront in Williamsburg, reports that 90 percent of the units have sold.

After wrapping up a banner year in 2011, The Edge is already on track for another record-breaking year in 2012, he said.

In January alone, 30 new contracts were signed with most at or above $1,000-per-square-foot.

“We are extremely proud to have reached the 90-percent-sold mark,” said Levine. “Time is running out to live in one of the most sought-after condominiums in Brooklyn — maybe the entire city.”

Said Rachel Weiss, an MNS agent and sales director for The Edge, “We already have entire lines sold out and are experiencing bidding wars on the last homes in some lines.

“More buyers should look at our duplexes. They are an ideal option because they offer a variety of configurations, many with a private terrace or balcony space.”

Among the amenities are an indoor/outdoor pool, an on-site spa, a golf simulator and basketball court, screening rooms and a children’s playroom.

Additionally, the development’s retail spaces are now home to Frolic, a 5,000-square-foot children’s indoor play space; a CVS pharmacy; and Red, White & Green Wines and Spirits.

First Combo Penthouse

Sells for $2.895 Million

In addition to the new contracts, The Edge has closed on its first combination penthouse for $2.895 million. The buyer, represented by Deborah Kavaler, senior vice president of Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, worked with Douglaston Development to customize the four-bedroom and four-bath penthouse.

“Having worked with The Edge team before, I knew that my client would be pleased with the condominium’s quality of construction, superlative amenity package and amazing panoramic views of the city,” said Kavaler. “With the help of Douglaston Development, we were able to create a one-of-a-kind home that any buyer would be proud of.”
