SCHERMERHORN STREET (AP) — Police say a New Jersey man posed as a police officer in New York City and threatened prostitutes with arrest if they did not perform sexual acts for free.

Warren Taylor of Bushkill, N.J., was awaiting arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court yesterday. The 32-year-old was arrested Monday on charges including impersonating a police officer.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether he has a lawyer.

New York police say Taylor is accused in four separate incidents in Queens and Manhattan during January and this month.

Police say Taylor hit a woman in the face and bruised her in one incident.
