BAY RIDGE — GR8 Gourmet has been open for less than a year, but it is already making a strong impression in the Bay Ridge food world for its international flavors and bright, festive atmosphere.

GR8 Gourmet has a wide and varied menu. It offers hand-rolled bagels, a Brooklyn favorite, as well as an impressive selection of global foods. These comestibles range from a Chinese-style sweet and sour sesame chicken to an assortment of Middle Eastern classics, as well as Greek, French and Italian favorites.

Chef Mofid Farag has been in the kitchen professionally for more than 40 years and is committed to providing the best food for his customers. He cooks everything imaginable and proudly shows a planned menu for future weekly selections. Fish specials appear on the menu every Wednesday and Friday — tilapia, white fish and sole are common offerings on such days.

Salads are wonderfully diverse. You can choose from a variety of prepared versions, or create your own at the fresh and cleanly stocked bar. Hot foods are prepared to order, or are available for take-away service.

Muffins, croissants and other pastries are also plentiful. Breakfast items and fresh, vibrant coffee fill the space with a welcoming and familiar scent of satisfaction for the morning commuter.

The space itself is bright and welcoming; tangerine highlights on the walls and enormous lights provide an energetic and animated space. Customers are invited to linger, or rush — whichever suits their needs. Cases of pastries line the front of the space, whereas hot entrees are on display further in the back. Continue towards the rear to find the salad bar.

Whatever you desire is surely at hand, from lasagna to Chicken Cordon Bleu. From “A” to “Z,” there is something on the menu for any hungry patron.

GR8 Gourmet offers free (and fresh, as the staff likes to remind patrons) delivery in the Bay Ridge area as well as free Wi-Fi should you wish to linger over your snack or meal in-house with your laptop or iPad.

The business also offers catering “for all occasions.” Stop by to speak with the manager, or chef, whether your event is for a few, or a few hundred.
