Fifth Ave. Committee airs ‘Battle for Brooklyn’ tonight
The Fifth Avenue Committee will sponsor a free screening of “Battle for Brooklyn,” the Atlantic Yards documentary by Suki Hawley and Michael Galinsky, tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Cobble Hill.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Michelle de la Uz, executive director of the Fifth Avenue Committee, and featuring film producer Michael Galinsky, Daniel Goldstein of Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn and Gib Veconi of BrooklynSpeaks.
Councilmember Letitia James and other elected officials have also been invited to participate.
The film follows Goldstein as he struggles to save his home and community from being demolished to make way for a professional basketball arena and possibly the densest real estate development in U.S. history.
