When firefighters responded to a call at 1740 West Second St., Bensonhurst, at 5 p.m. on Sunday, they discovered two Jack Russell terriers in the basement and worked feverishly to save them.  Sadly, one could not be revived, but the other will be fine thanks to their efforts.
