Earlier this month, 15 students in the Genesis Program at Xaverian High School competed in the Science Olympiad at Grover Cleveland High School. The students were coached by faculty members Robert Procida (Xaverian ’03) and James Schreiner (’04).

The Genesis Team placed in the top five in four separate categories: Meteorology, Storm the Castle, Dynamic Planet, and Rocks & Minerals. The students were also awarded a trophy for “Best New Team.”

“The whole day was a great success,” Procida said. “Our students represented our school with a bang!”

Procida and the Genesis students are now looking forward to next year’s competition.
