Bay Ridge — Artists and performers will be mingling with each other at a networking event being organized by Councilman Vincent Gentile.

Gentile and the Bay Ridge Arts + Cultural Alliance are co-hosting a neighborhood networking event for local artists on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Three Jolly Pigeons bar, 6802 Third Ave., at 7 p.m.
Gentile founded the alliance to promote Bay Ridge as an arts and cultural hub and to win respect for the community’s arts scene, which he said is often overlooked.

“For far too long, Bay Ridge’s incredible arts and culture organizations have enriched our neighborhood, but have been largely overlooked by the rest of the borough and city,” Gentile said. “Recognizing Bay Ridge as a creative and culturally vibrant neighborhood means more visitors, a stronger local economy and greater investment in local businesses and the quality of life residents can enjoy.”

The networking event “will be a great way to meet other area artists, and exchange cards and information about any upcoming openings, events, or offerings,” Gentile said.
