Greek Orthodox Easter Week Celebration in Brooklyn

Hundreds of parishioners of the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral carried candles and a flower-covered bier along Court and Schermerhorn streets in Downtown Brooklyn this past Friday night to commemorate Great and Holy Friday, part of the Greek Orthodox Holy Week. Eastern Orthodox churches celebrated Easter this past Sunday, and commemorate the Resurrection through Saturday in what is called “Bright Week.”
